It was an intense day for those of us who lived on the West Kootenai. The day the Caribou Fire swept down into our community. Pre-evacuation orders had been issued. Everything about the day had an urgency to it.
That fire was coming HERE. Time was fast running out to get our families and a few belonging out of its wide path of destruction. In the intensity of it all, it was difficult to pray beyond the quick, short prayers of crying out, “Help us, Lord!”
